I ordered a new hardtail frame from a company that starts with “T”…and rhymes with “wreck” and amazingly, it did not include a thru-axle. Maybe this is more common these days, but after checking they confirmed it intentionally does not include the axle. Of course they wanted to sell me a $40 axle…but no freakin’ way. I briefly considered returning the frame, but that would have been awfully petty and would have just sent me searching for another frame. But low….here is this axle for half what they were wanting ot sell me and boom. The 1.0mm thread pitch is correct for the new UDH frames and I knew what length I needed per the tech specs from the company. Excellent find. Time will tell on longevity, but I ride predominantly XC, and blue tech so I suspect it will hold up just fine.
