The Silky Natanoko is one of Silky’s longest serving products and the range was recently broadened to include a slightly curved saw – the Natanoko 2000. The product offers a high performance saw with fairly coarse teeth and a heavy duty blade. It is designed to cut medium to large branches. The Natanoko 2000 is only available in a 330mm blade. It has a coarse teeth configuration with 6.5 teeth per 30mm. The curve has a radius of 2000mm and strives to make the saw more efficient when cutting on all angles. The Natanoko 2000 cannot be re-sharpened due to the use of electro-impulse hardening in the manufacturing process. The saw comes with a comfortable rubber handle and a custom made, durable black polypropylene holster which can be attached to a belt. The saws are designed to have replaceable blades and all other parts are also available. Non-set Teeth Blades are made from SK-4 high carbon steel and taper ground i.e. thicker at the tooth edge, thinner at the back of the blade. This taper reduces resistance giving smoother, easier, faster cutting performance. Impulse Hardening Using a special high frequency heating technique, teeth are heated instantly and hardened. Because only the teeth are heated the blade retains its normal flexibility. Hardened teeth stay sharp about 3 times longer than non-hardened. Sharpenable Because impulse-hardening is not applied, the blades marked with this symbol can be sharpened with a file. Hard Chrome Plating Hard chrome plating produces an exceedingly hard, durable surface. The blades are resistant to rust and the effects of resin. They are finely or mirror polished and wipe clean easily. Rubber Handle Almost all Silky saws have rubber compound elastomer handles, either inserted or vulcanised to ABS plastic or steel. Rubber handles are more comfortable to hold, reduce vibration and offer superior grip in the cold and wet.
