The Super Accel 21 is a very popular lightweight folding saw with a versatile 210mm length blade. The saw is designed for general pruning and is happily used by professional arborists and amateur gardeners alike. It is also popular with campers and those enjoying the great outdoors. There are 2 different possible teeth configurations – the standard 7.5 teeth per 30mm and a finer version with 14 teeth per 30mm. The finer version is useful for pruning smaller branches and gives a finer finish to medium branches, and it is particularly good on harder drier wood. The blade easily and securely locks into two different angle positions for easy cutting. Use the first position for most cutting jobs. On occasion, the second flush cutting position proves invaluable in confined or unusual situations. The comfortable, rubber coated handle is easy to grasp especially on the pull-stroke when a greater cutting force is needed and allows for good grip even in wetter conditions. The saws are designed to have replaceable blades and other parts are also available. There is just one screw to unwind in order to change the blade. Non-set Teeth Blades are made from SK-4 high carbon steel and taper ground i.e. thicker at the tooth edge, thinner at the back of the blade. This taper reduces resistance giving smoother, easier, faster cutting performance. Impulse Hardening Using a special high frequency heating technique, teeth are heated instantly and hardened. Because only the teeth are heated the blade retains its normal flexibility. Hardened teeth stay sharp about 3 times longer than non-hardened. Mirai-Me Smooth Coating The teeth of the future! Blades have precision ground, razor sharp teeth with 4 cutting angles along their length. They leave an especially smooth surface after cutting and are ideal for pruning, greatly reducing the risk of infection. They can rip-cut, cross-cut and slant-cut. Hard Chrome Plating Hard chrome plating produces an exceedingly hard, durable surface. The blades are resistant to rust and the effects of resin. They are finely or mirror polished and wipe clean easily. Rubber Handle Almost all Silky saws have rubber compound elastomer handles, either inserted or vulcanised to ABS plastic or steel.
